*Jumpin' Julie Visits Chaffee County (Cottonwood Pass - St. Elmo Ghost Town - Evergreen Cafe)* - July 23, 2007

***Cottonwood Pass***
	My friend known as "Jumpin' Julie" (right) was in Buena Vista today and with us having a half day to spend, I did my best to show them around. We didn't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, and so our tour stayed mainly on paved and well-graded roads. Still, we had a really nice time. We started the morning with a visit to Cottonwood Pass.
	Ooooh! Aaaah! Here's the standard view looking out east of the divide. I spend so much time up here as part of my work to update www.CottonwoodPass.net. :)
	Somehow, I convinced Katie and Helen to bang their heads against the Cottonwood Pass sign as I snapped the photo! :p)
	We didn't walk too far, but we were hoping to see some snow up there. Small patches of snow appeared way up on edges of the ridges, but that was it.

St. Elmo

	We then made the drive to St. Elmo, a once bustling mining town that many call a "ghost town." All of the land and buildings are on private property, by the way, but visitors are encouraged to walk along the road.

***Evergreen Cafe in Buena Vista, CO***
And there were are! We enjoyed lunch at the Evergreen Cafe in Buena Vista, and we sat on the stool in the older part of the diner. We had a great time and it was so nice to be with my friends!
