THE OLD HIKING ROUTE TO MT. YALE (Denny Gulch Trail) - June 17, 2006
Denny Gulch Trail I was in the mood to explore inside the canyon leading to Cottonwood Pass, and I hiked just a short while up the old Denny Gulch Trail, a former trail that used to be the main route to the Mt. Yale summit. Much of the trail has been reclaimed and I only hiked maybe 0.2 to 0.3 miles in. The main trailhead to hike Mt. Yale can be found just a few miles west on the road.
Mt. Yale Standing on Cottonwood Pass Road, I got this shot of Mt. Yale.
Cottonwood Pass Road Here's a shot of Cottonwood Pass Road looking westbound from across the trailhead.
Denny Gulch Trail As I said, the trail has largely been reclaimed and hiking is very discouraged in here. From the beginning there are large tree trunks and rocks along the trail that make things a little unwelcoming! :p)
Denny Gulch Creek I did not go very far in, but I snapped this nice shot of the Denny Gulch Creek.
